Plan for Wrapping Up Our IB Material and Review!!

This is my best thought-out plan for prepping for the IB Exam, although there may be things we need to change.  I will update this site as that happens.

  • Wed 4/16:  Wrap up Behavior Notes.  Finish Data-Based Questions and evaluate.
  • Fri 4/18:  Review topics for IB:  Mitosis/Meiosis, Genetics, Replication, Transcription, Translation, and Enzymes.  Also, we will cover the topic of lactase and lactose-free milk, which we haven't talked about yet and is a frequent topic on IB exams.   Hand out Review for Neurobiology and Behavior group test to be taken on Wed 4/23.
  • Mon 4/21:  Review topics for IB:  Biotech topics and plants.  Also, we will take any questions you have about Neurobiology and Behavior.
  • Wed 4/23:  Neurobiology and Behavior Group Test.  I will assign the groups of 3 and you will know them by Fri 4/18.  I will also post the groups on this website.  After the test, review more IB topics, especially Evolution.
  • Fri 4/25:  Take Paper 3 or Paper 1 (but most likely Paper 3) Sample Exam.  It will be assessed using the IB markscheme, although the points you get will be curved.
  • Mon 4/28:  Jeopardy Review on IB Exam Topics.  This might also be done with "clickers", which is a fun way to review multiple choice questions.
  • Wed 4/30:  Paper 2 Sample IB Exam.  This is the long one, although you will not get the full time allotted that you will get for the exam.
  • Fri 5/2:  Take Paper 1 (multiple choice) or Paper 3, whichever one we didn't take last Friday.  After the test, we will do more suggestions and review for the IB exam.
  • Mon 5/5 and Wed 5/7:  IB Exams start this week, so many of you may be gone, but we will continue to review for your exam on these 2 days.
  • Fri 5/9 and Mon 5/12:  IB Biology Exam!!  Good Luck!  For those of you not taking the Exam, come to class and we will do some fun stuff related to Biology.  It is required to come to class when you are not testing and you will get points for your participation.  Students taking exams that day are excused from these participation points, but if you are only taking a 1-2 hour exam in the morning, come on in to class afterwards!!
