• Mon 2/25:  Molecules of chromosomes.  Double helix discovery.  Overview of replication.  Finish Replication worksheet and turn in.  Read Chapter 16.
• Tues 2/26:  Turn in Replication Worksheet if not already.  On-line simulation of replication.  In table groups, simulate DNA replication using paper models.  Start transcription.  
• Thurs 2/28:  Transcription to translation.   Dictionary of the genetic code.  Mutations in your name worksheet.   Read 17.1

The Genetics Test is going to be on Thursday, 2/21.  On Tuesday, you will be taking an OAKS test and starting DNA Replication.  Remember to study the 6 genetics disorders, know how to do a dihybrid Punnett Square, and know how to do a Chi-squared test and interpret it.  See Review Sheet for other questions.

A New Semester!!

• Mon 2/4:  Final Exams Back and Recollect.  Probability Laws and Genetics.  Hand out Genetics Problem Set due next Monday 2/11.  Do answers on a separate sheet and show work.  Read Chapter 14.
• Tues 2/5:  Chi-Squared test and Genetics.  Using playing cards to simulate a cross producing flowers. Complete the Card Simulation hand-out and turn in today or Thursday.  
• Thurs 2/7:  X-linked traits.  Pedigrees.  Pedigree worksheet due next Wednesday.  Genetics Problems due on Monday.  Watch "Ghost in Your Genes" video and turn in video notes.
• Mon 2/11:  Turn in genetics problem-set.  Questions on Pedigrees?  Computer research on genetics disorders.
• Wed 2/13:  Check off pedigree worksheet and go over.  Linked genes and gene mapping.  Hand out Genetics Review Sheet and work on problems.
• Fri 2/15:  Short classes today.  Go over problems on Genetics Review Sheet.  Genetics Test next Tuesday, 2/19. Thursday, 2/21.
